Evaporating Dishes

Evaporating Dishes

Evaporating dishes are tools used to separate liquids and solids from a solution via evaporation of water or other solvents. These dishes are shallow, have a large open surface, and have a pouring spout to promote evaporation and permit easy sample transfer. Dishes are available in porcelain, borosilicate glass, glassy carbon, and PTFE. Dishes made of porcelain and borosilicate glass are safe to use on Bunsen burners.

Use these dishes for a variety of applications. Haldenwanger™ Porcelain Basins feature a smooth internal finish, constructed from optimized laboratory porcelain.
Withstand temperatures to 230°C (446°F)
Inert and usable to 280°C (536°F). Smooth internal finish. With heavy walls With pouring spout
Designed to withstand high temperatures with proper use. GSC International Porcelain Evaporating Dishes can withstand temperatures of up to 1050°C on their glazed portions, and up to 1350°C on their unglazed bottom surfaces.
Porcelain dish with lip
Manufactured from Pyrex™ borosilicate glass and complies to DIN 12336 standards. Pyrex™ Borosilicate Glass Flat Bottom Evaporating Dishes are highly resistant to chemical erosion and thermal shock. Flat base with curved sides and spout provide easy handling and helps to prevent spillage.
The flat shape as well as the flat bottom of the crystallizing dish allow an even evaporation of solvents and thus the crystallization of solids from solutions and suspensions.
