Silver (Ag)

Known since ancient times, it is believed man was separating silver ([Kr]4d¹⁰5s¹) (CAS 7440-22-4) from lead as early as 3000 B.C. In pure air and in water, it is stable. Pure silver is a lustrous, white metal, more ductile and malleable than any other metal, excluding gold. Silver is the best reflector of visible light known until air causes it to tarnish. Silver has the highest electrical and thermal conductivity of all metals.
